Triology

Triology – Miles Black (L), Jodi Proznick (C), Bill Coon (R)

Formed in 2008, “Triology” is made up of three of Canada’s most sought after jazz musicians. They fashioned the group after the great early jazz trios of Nat King Cole and Oscar Peterson, and so Triology features wonderful arrangements of classic standards, as well as original tunes by the trio members.

Jodi Proznick on upright bass. She is an award winning musician, leader of her own quartet, and also a member of many other jazz ensembles, such as the Tilden Webb Trio, the Joel Haynes Trio, and the Oliver Gannon Quartet. Jodi also shared the stage with many American jazz legends such as drummer Lewis Nash, saxophonist George Coleman, and singer Sheila Jordan.

Guitarist Bill Coon has performed professionally for over thirty years, and accompanied many great jazz artists. Bill is also an in demand composer-arranger. Recently two of his arrangements for symphony orchestra and voice appear on the recording ‘True North: The Canadian Songbook’ by singer Eleanor McCain.

Miles Black is a highly accomplished pianist and composer with over 30 years experience, has performed worldwide, recorded extensively and worked with many American jazz greats, including drummer Max Roach, flautist and tenor saxophonist Lew Tabackin, and trumpeter Harry “Sweets” Edison.

Recorded at the St. Elias Convention Centre in Haines Junction, Yukon, in January 2019.

We would like to thank Jazz Yukon for co-sponsoring this event.
